WATCH: Pissed Off Dad GOES OFF on Principal for Allowing 12-Year-Olds to Hold Gun Control Walkout

Last Wednesday, thousands of kids across the country walked out of their schools to protest for increased gun control. The effort was led by the Parkland students who survived the tragic shooting, which left 17 people dead.

However, not everyone is a fan of the walkouts.

One father wasn’t having any of it and showed up at his child’s school to give the principal, who allowed the walkout, a piece of his mind.

John Gunn, the father, posted the confrontation at Ventura Unified School District with principal Barbara Boggio on Facebook.

“I want to know who authorized these kids to go out and leave the class when I wasn’t even notified about it,” he said to the school’s principal.

She responded, “As our school planned for who and what, we anticipated something…”

Gunn interrupted asking, “6th graders? 6th graders? When do 6th graders make decisions?”

He continued:

“When do 12-year-olds make decisions? You’re an adult, you’re the school, you’re supposed to teach my child. You don’t influence my child in any which way. Democrat, liberal, Republican, whatever it is. I want it out of the school system.

So why did my son have to sit in that class — because he didn’t leave — but why wasn’t I notified?”

The principal explained that “if the student chose to leave, that’s their choice.” The father fired back, “What do you mean that’s their choice? They’re 6th graders!”

The father put the pressure on asking, “If this wasn’t a protest and this wasn’t happening, you would let the kid leave?” She responded, “I would make sure they were safe.”

“If this was not a protest yesterday across the country about gun control or whatever it is, you would have let the kids just leave?” he asked.

“We would make sure they are safe, that’s our job,” she explained.

But the father wasn’t having any of it asking again, “I want to know who let them go?”

“I’m going to sue the school district. I already have a lawyer. I wasn’t notified that you were going to allow this.”

“This is from my son, who doesn’t lie, ‘if you want to leave, you can leave.’ You told the teachers ‘if you want to go, you can go.’ Somebody told them that.”

She answered, “I would never make a teacher ever shut the door and keep a student inside the classroom.”

“You’re telling me a 12-year-old can just walk out of the class?” he fired back. “Why can’t you just say, ‘No you can’t go.’ They’re 12-year-olds.”

Gunn spoke with IJR and explained that he called the superintendent of the school, but they were in a meeting and he was told that human resources would get back to him. However, Gunn has not heard anything for over three days.

“They should have kept the kids inside the classroom, since they are 12 and 13-years-old,” he told IJR. “They shouldn’t be pushing their liberal agenda on kids that know no better.”

IJR reached out to Principal Boggio for comment on the story and she stated, “I won’t be making any comments.” IJR also reached out to Dave Creswell, the superintendent, but he did not get back to us for comment at the time of publication.
